Online Keno
Online keno is basically a virtual online depiction of the actual Keno game. Online and Land based Keno are different in the way they are played, but both follow pretty much the same concept and rules. Online keno has become popular in the last couple of years, largely because of the recent improvements in technology.
Today the idea of using pen and paper to mark off numbers are a thing of the past. Now by playing Online you simply need to click on the ticket to mark it.
Not to mention the fact that you can play from the comfort of your home.
How to Play Keno
Keno is very similar to the lotto or bingo as all of them contain lots of numbered balls placed in a circular contraption and ultimately determines the result of the ball draw. Each ball contains a number on it from one to eighty. The balls are then "shuffled" in the circular contraption and the caller will then press a level which opens a tube that lifts a ball in the "V" shaped cylinder known as "rabbit ears".
Both the caller as well as a person to verify, keep a record of the 20 keno balls that were drawn, and the keno computer system then calculates all bets based upon the numbers that were drawn.
To place a bet a player needs to mark his desired numbers from 1 - 80 with an "X" on the blank Keno card. Once all Keno players have placed their bets, the casino then draws 20 balls randomly.
Many of the casinos call the ball draw automatically at planned times whether players are placing a bet or not. All casinos have their own set of pay tables and players are paid according to this.
Players are paid out depending on how many numbers on their Keno card match the numbers that were drawn.
There are so many different types of pay tables and specialty keno bets for players to choose from with all their own unique house edges and these casinos.
All pay tables are unique and some casinos offer up to 30 different pay tables.
Keno history
The word "keno" derives from the French or Latin term meaning " five winning numbers", but in actual fact originated in China.
The Chinese people played keno using sheets that were printed with Chinese symbols on it. Usually the first 80 symbols of the Thousand Character Classic, where the winning symbols were chosen.
In later years the Chinese immigrated to the West where they introduced Keno and the name then was Westernized.
